Happy Hour at The Gallery at Sweetgrass

Earlier this Summer, The Gallery at Sweetgrass opened at The Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, SC. This Hyatt owned property is a delight to wander through and has some spectacular views. The gallery is nestled between shops, sprawling resort pools, and multiple restaurants and bars. I am thrilled to be exhibiting my artwork alongside numerous local artists in this chic space!

Most recently I was asked to live paint alongside Charleston based artist, Fallon Pepper. The gallery worked with onsite restaurant The Oyster Catcher to put together a still life of restaurant specialties. From jumbo shrimp, oysters with roe, to cocktails and a floral bouquet - they covered all the bases. Once everything was arranged, we set to painting while guests and club members watched our creations come to life. It was so neat to see both or interpretations of the same scene!

Creating artwork for Sweetgrass has been a welcome change of pace. I have been embracing coastal imagery and putting my spin on it. The artwork I created for their upcoming exhibit, Roam, features day and night beach scenes, oysters and sea oats.  The exhibit will open November 4th from 5:00-7:30pm.
